I can't beleive it's already Christmas. = I can't believe this year is almost over. Time flies.
올해가 거의 끝난다니 믿기지가 않는다. 시간 참 빨리간다.
What are you doing on Christmas Eve? 새해 전 날 뭐해?
What are you planning to do for Chirstmas Eve? 새해 전날 계획이 뭐야?
I'm not sure. I think I may just stay home/ 잘 모르겠어. 난 아마 그냥 집에 있을 것 같아.
Aren't you spending itme with your family? 너 가족하고 시간보낼거 아니야?
No, not really. My family isn't big on Christmas. 아니 안그래 우리가족은 크리스마스를 중요하게생각안해.
Well, Christmas in Korea is more of a romantic holiday for dating couples.
음 한국에서 크리스마스는 연인들에게 낭만적인 휴일에 더 가까워.
What do you mean? 무슨말이야?
It's not like a family holiday in the West. Many youngsters just go out to party.
서양에서의 가족명절같지는 않아. 그냥 많은 젊은이들이 밖으로 놀러나가.
So, are you going out to party yourself? 그럼 너도 나가서 친구들하고 놀거니?
No, I think I'm getting too old for that. 아니 난 그렇게하기에는 너무 나이가 들은 것 같아.

What did you do on Christmas last year? 넌 작년 크리스마스에 뭐했어?
Well, my family goes to a Catholic church. We attended the midnight mass at our church.
우리 가족은 성당에 다녀. 우리는 성당 자정미사에 참석했어.
Oh, how was it? 아 어땠어?
It was very nice with all the carols.
캐롤이 있어서 참 좋았어.
I'm sure it was very nice.
정말 좋았겠다.
What do you normally do for Christmas?
넌 보통 크리스마스에 뭐해?
Well, back home, I would get together with my family.
음 고향에서는 가족과 함께 모이곤 했어.
But since I don't have family here, I went out with some friends last year.
그런데 여기는 가족들이 없어서 작년에 친구들하고 나가 놀았어.
Did you have fun?
재밌었어?
We went out, but there were so many people on the streets!
우린 놀러 나가긴했는데 거리에 사람들이 너무나 많았어.
Plus, everything was so much more expensive.
게다가, 모든 게 훨씬 더 비쌌어.

We only have five days left this year.
올해가 5일밖에 남지 않았어.
Yeah, I can hard believe we're done with the year.
응, 올해가 끝난 다는 게 믿어지지 않아.
Time just flew by.
시간이 정말 빨리 지나갔어.
I know. It seems that it's going by faster.
맞아 더 빨리 지나가는 거 같아.
What kind of plans do you have for the end of the year?

I just have a bunch of gatherings.
난 그냥 모임이 많이 있어.

송년회?
Sort of. Koreans have a lot of end-of-year get-togethers.
그런셈이지. 한국인들은 연말모임을 많이 가져.
Who do you get together with?
넌 누구랑 같이 모여?
Mostly co-workers or old-time friends.
대부분 직장 동료나 오랜 친구들이야.

People are more willing to give at the end of the year.
사람들은 연말에 기꺼이 더 많은 기부를해.
I know. It's the atmosphere.

The Salvation Army takes donations on the streets.
구세군이 거리에서 기부금을 받아.
Yeah, they are our on the streets at this time of year.
응 그들은 연중 이맘때면 거리에 나와있어.

넌 올해 기부했어?
Yes, I did. I made a small donation on TV. I called and pledged some money.
응 했어. 난 TV에서 작은 기부를 했어. 전화해서 돈을 좀 내겠다고 했어.

Me? My niece ws born this year. That was most memorable.

Well, I have many memorable moments.

I graduated from school this year and got a job. That was a big change for me.
난 올해 학교를 졸업했고, 취업했잖아. 나에게는 큰 변화였어.

I'll just be home with my family. Korean usually spend New Year's Eve with their family.

i'm going to party with my friends. We're going to do the countdown together.

We haven't decide yet. We're going downtown.

Well, It was very busy last year. I want to spend more quality time with my parents this year.
